Little Gnome Homes!!!

Ok, somebody stop me... The inspiration at Etsy is taking over my life!! There are so many talented artists there and I am getting so many ideas. I made these polymer clay houses this weekend that were inspired by some artists from Etsy. One of which is the very talented Jenn Mcglon from Noodle and Lou. Jenn makes these cute little houses and calls them "Lulettes." Every time she makes them and puts them in her Etsy shop they are gone faster than you can blink an eye! I decided I would try and make my own since I can never get there fast enough to buy one of Jenns. I have never worked with polymer clay, so I really didn't have a clue as to what I was doing. Overall, I am happy with the way they turned out and they look really cute in my living room.

"WICKED"

So you know that I love Suzi Blu and read her blog daily...Well, she and some of her readers are just starting to read the book "Wicked." I just picked up my copy and am going to start it this weekend. It's a prequel to Wizard of Oz and it tells the story of the Wicked Witch before she became wicked. I don't know much more about it, but I can't wait to read it. After we read the book, we are going to paint witches. So if you want to join in with us, I would love to discuss the book with you and see your witch paintings.

One Commission Finished and One to go!!!

Ok, this is the absolute LAST time I am going to paint this girl! It is my 3rd one and I'm over it. I want to move on!!!!! I did add some eyelashes on this one and the cat is orange! I have one more commission and it is the Flying Fairy sketch that I posted earlier. I am excited to start that one and then my cute little Dutchie girl after that!!

Mini Vacation

I have been recovering from a mini vacation my family took this past weekend. We spent two days camping at Carlsbad State Beach and we had such a great time. It was so beautiful there and I took some pretty cool pictures of the sunset that I thought I would share. We came home on Sunday and I am still trying to catch up on my sleep and now have seemed to come down with a terrible summer cold (aren't those the worst?). I haven't done much painting because of this cold, but I really am feeling withdrawls coming on...

NEW SKETCHES

I have been having some fun sketching. The Fairy is a commission I will be doing next week and the Dutch Girl was inspired by Suzi Blu. She has a lot of Dutch blog readers and she did a sketch of a cute Dutch Girl. She encouraged her readers to draw one as well, so here is my version.

I'm still here!

I'm sorry I haven't posted for awhile! I have been busy with kids and their summer activities. I am going to start on another commission tonight and have some new sketches to share. It's strange when you start to get requests for paintings that you have already done. It's not as fun. Hopefully I will be able to paint what I want soon, so I can continue to try new things.

Princess Sophie is finished!!!!

This was so fun! I added glitter to the crown, wings and the star. I also added jeweled and chipboard letters for the title. The painting is cute, but not half as cute as the real Sophie; she is such a little doll!!
