Craft Fair Season is Coming!!!!!!

Just a little post. I bought these cute 3x4 paper mache lined notebooks and thought they would be perfect to sell during the upcoming craft fair season. I got them at JoAnn's and took all they had. I am really happy with the way they came out and I had an absolute blast making them.

I'm All Over The Place!

Since Friday, I have been making art like crazy!! And I have been all over the place when it comes to style!

Here is a colorful, doodle art journal page.

Then I felt like circles and numbers.

 

This is on a 9x12 Canvas and from the online class "Act Natural" with the very talented Julie Prichard. I highly recommend any of her classes. She is very knowledgeable and a super cool chick.

Here is the same canvas, but I went into a photo editing program and added this quote from Mumford and Sons.

I worked on this journal page. But before I finished it, I took a picture and digitally added this quote by Mahatma Ghandi.

Finally, I painted one of my Fashionista girls on the same page and added the quote "Have Faith."

Re-purposed Box Pin Cushion Tutorial

I received a cute little box of chocolates for Valentines Day and decided to see if I could re-purpose the box and make a pin cushion. Well, it worked and so I made a little tutorial for you. You don't have to use a box of chocolates, any little box will work.

Here is what you will need:
A Small Box
Fabric (I used a cute bandana that found at Wal Mart for $.98)
FiberFill
Ribbon (the picture shows washi tape, but I realized it wouldn't be sturdy enough)
Scrapbook paper (not shown)
Matte Medium (or Modge Podge)
Glue Gun

 

                                                                 

                            Hot glue fiberfill to top of the lid.                                 

 

 

 Cut fabric about 1 1/2 inches larger than the top of the lid.                                                                      

 

                           Hot glue the fabric tightly around the lid and cut off any of the excess fabric.

                                           Your box should now look like this.
                                          

 

Hot glue your ribbon around the edge of the box covering the bit of fabric that is still showing.

There was still some of the box showing at the bottom, so I decided to hot glue some white ric rac to cover the rest.

 

Now it is time to cover the bottom of the box (I really didn't want to be reminded of how many calories those chocolates were). Cut some decorative scrapbook paper to size and glue it to the bottom.

 

Here is what is looked like after I glued it.

 

                Add your sewing supplies and some pins in your cushion and you are all set.

Holiday Craft Bazaar!!

The Holiday Craft Bazaar went great! It was totally worth it staying up until 2am every morning getting ready for it. I sold quite a few things and have several commissioned requests. So I am going to be very busy the next few weeks.

Here is what my table set-up looked like. I sold ornaments (the biggest hit), bookmarks, recipe boards, Holiday boxes and some post-it note/pen gift sets I made.
