His Kingdom Come Stencil Blog Hop!! With Video!

Welcome to a very exciting blog hop.  Today His Kingdom Come is celebrating the launch of a brand new Faithart stencil & mask line “Praise Him” designed by Diane Marra.

His Kingdom Come has created tools to draw you into God’s presence and lead you deeper into creative living. Faithart tools help us create art with the intention of connecting with God.

His Kingdom Come faithart tools help you exercise the artistic gifts God has bestowed upon each of us. These faithart tools allow you to work together with God to discover the creative, holy and abundant faithart He has placed upon your heart!  Join His Kingdom Come in creative expressions of faith!

His Kingdom Come showcases faithart products designed by Christian artists who know and love God and are passionate about sharing their faithart!  Our faithart product includes canvas ephemera, stamps, stencils/masks and Thermofax screens.

A team of talented HKC artists have come together to launch these exciting new stencils & masks.  This blog hop is your chance to get to see how these artists have used them in their faithart.

It doesn’t matter where you start within the blog hop.   Or you can start at the beginning at His Kingdom Come.  Each blog has the complete list of participants.

As you visit each blog you will be given a letter eg. D.   When you have collected all the letters they will make a word.  When you have worked out the word email Bernice with the word.  We will randomly choose 4 people who have the correct answer to win a free stencil of their choice.   All entries must arrive by Noon (Pacific time) on Tuesday 23rd June.

The letter to collect from my blog is: R

Stuck

Here is my latest video "Stuck."

I ended up tweaking her a little bit after I filmed the video. I gave her a necklace, shaded her hair a little more and added some shading around the word "Stuck."

Sunday Mornings With Mindy Lacefield

Mindy Lacefield of Tim's Sally is hosting a free workshop for the next 5 weeks. It is a christian based class called Sunday Mornings. I was so excited to hear that she was offering this class. It is something I have been wanting to either start or be a part of for awhile now. I want to get more in touch with my spirituality and connect more with God. Here is the link if you would like to join in on the fun.

I decided to make a journal so I can continue on with my journey after the five weeks with Mindy has ended. Our first lesson was to paint a praying girlie with a writing prompt "Lord, lead me to your light."

What I've Been Up To

Teaching up a storm!! I've been teaching 1-2 art classes a week to all different age groups and I am having a blast!! I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love on a daily basis. This past weekend I had the pleasure of teaching at my very first retreat! Have you heard of Scrap Diva Retreats? It is in Murrieta, Ca. and up on an amazing hill. I felt like I was far away in the country. The drive up to the house was absolutely beautiful. Not to mention the retreat home itself was gorgeous!! 5,000 square fee (single story). 4 bedrooms all with full bathrooms. Plenty of space to make art and tons of supplies at our disposal. What fun it was to be able to spend two days making and teaching art in this beautiful place. I met some great women too. If you are ever in the area, I would absolutely recommend spending some time at Scrap Diva Retreats.

I also teach kids and adults in my town of Escondido.

New Video!

I am working on making things for an upcoming Arts and Craft show in November. I decided to record some of the items I am creating. This one is a cute little notebook with a blank cover. I bought about 15 of them, so I better get off this computer and get busy....

Next Soul Food Interview!!

Here is another great interview with one of the teachers (and Head Chef) of the year long class Soul Food!

I can't express how amazing this course is going to be! Plus we have added more Artists to the lineup. Stephanie Ackerman, Nolwenn Petitbois and Mary Beth Shaw!!

In other news, I myself have recently taken a wonderful online course with Kate Thompson on the Ning site The Trodden Path. Kate is amazing and uses fabric, joint compound and watercolors to achieve wonderful paintings.

Here is what I painted using the techniques from her class.

I am donating this piece to help raise money for Cancer research. I named it "Brave."

Have a wonderful week!!

Craft Fair Season is Coming!!!!!!

Just a little post. I bought these cute 3x4 paper mache lined notebooks and thought they would be perfect to sell during the upcoming craft fair season. I got them at JoAnn's and took all they had. I am really happy with the way they came out and I had an absolute blast making them.

Journal Junkies Month 3

Yesterday was month 3 of the art journaling class I teach in my home. My students made some beautiful pages and we all had so much fun in the process. I get so much enjoyment out of seeing people make things that they didn't think they could make and the smiles on their faces are priceless.

There are 12 pages in our journal and each month I have them create and journal something that they can share about themselves. In the end, I want them to have a complete journal all about their own thoughts and feelings that they can pass down to their children or grandchildren.

This month was their favorite quote or Bible verse.

I made silhouette stencils of the ladies from magazine photos. You can buy sheets of plastic and make your own stencils. I bought a sheet of 3 from Wal Mart for about $2-3 dollars. I will have to do a tutorial on how to make them. It was really easy.

They all said this was their favorite page so far. Now the pressure is on for me to think of something they will love as much for the next meeting. :)

Have a great week!
