My Passion for Art Journaling

I'm so sorry it has been over a week since I have posted. I try to post every Monday, but I have been very busy lately.

I have started a monthly Art Journal club in my town. We have our first meeting on May 12th and I have been really busy making kits for the group. Most of the women in the club have never done anything like this before so I have also been busy designing our first two pages. I really want to be prepared to teach them each element of the page.

I have a real passion for Art Journaling and I want women to know how fun, relaxing and healing it can be to do something creative for ourselves. We get so busy "doing" for others, I feel it is important to make time doing something fun and meaningful for ourselves. I am also passionate about teaching people that anyone can make art. I can't tell you how many times people have viewed my work and said "You are so talented, but I could never make anything like that. I don't have a creative bone in my body." I think this is so untrue!!! I believe anyone can be an artist. I also believe in the process of making art, not so much the result. I am out to show these women that with a little instruction, they can make art that they love and have fun doing it. I also feel like Art Journaling is a great legacy we can pass down to our children. I love that my kids will have all of my art when I am long gone. I want them to know that I have interests and passions outside of my life with them.

I will post pictures of what we make each month after we have our meetings. The journaling kits were a lot of fun to put together as well. I made each one of them a 12 page 140lb watercolor journal. I added papers, handmade papers (by me), envelopes, journal cards, decorative napkins, punchinella, several household items that can be used in art journaling like bubble wrap, cardboard, shelf liner, old credit cards, etc. Tissue paper, black gel pen, pencil, stickers, stamps, confetti and the list goes on.
I'm thinking about making some extras and putting them in my Etsy shop. What do you think?

Here are some pictures of the kits.

Oh, I also have a new journal page to share as well.

Ta Ta!!!
