More of my Work In Progress/Completion
It's really hard to get the colors to look correct. The red on the side of the painting isn't so bright.

Commission Work In Progress
I decided to post a work in progress for a commission I am working on. The first picture is the paper I used and then I put a light wash on the sky. The second picture shows the clouds I made out of pages from a French book and a light wash on the grass. The third picture is just the priming I did on the figures (that takes the longest). I will post more pictures as I go.

New Sketches!!
Here are some more sketches from my Suzi workshop. This time we sketched on watercolor paper and practiced shading with watercolor pencils. I also received another commission request through my Etsy shop and am working on that right now. I will show you the WIP on that starting tomorrow! Busy, Busy, Busy...

New Sketches
Here are some new sketches I have been working on for the class I am taking with Suzi Blu. Part of our homework was to practice simple head tilts, gestures and shading. I am having fun and am chomping at the bit to start painting. Have a great weekend!!

I actually have had this finished for awhile, but I have been taking an online class with Suzi and have been busy completing her assignments. I will post my assignments soon, but in the meantime, I hope you like the painting. It was a lot of fun to create.

Finished Jessi & Skylar
Here is the completed commissioned piece I mentioned in the last post. The pictures do not do the piece justice. The colors are really vibrant and there is some glitter added to her collar, headband and the chandelier. Jessi, if you see this I really hope you like it. I will be putting it in the mail tomorrow.

Suzi Blu Kit
One of my favorite artists Suzi Blu created a kit to learn how to paint her girlies. The kit is called "Party Girl" and it came with so many materials that I can make several mixed media paintings out of them. One of the things that was included was a practice sheet with images of her girlies on the front and back. After I finished practicing, I realized that I liked some of them. I wanted to do something with them instead of just keeping them in a drawer or tossing them, so I decided to laminate the ones I liked and make bookmarks out of them to give to my friends and family. Here is a picture of how they came out. When I'm finished with the actual painting I will post the results. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of the bookmarks.

Commissions and Truth
I just finished two commissions for a little boys room. This is waaaaaaaay out of my normal girlie paintings, but it was fun to do something different. After I finished the commissions, I was going through girlie withdrawals, so I painted a quick 6X6 girlie. The title of the painting is "Truth." I don't normally use purple, but I think it looks good with her blond hair.

Tour of my Studio....If you want to call it a studio
Here is my work desk. I have all kinds of things stored on the top shelf. Things like fabric, felt, chipboard books and a bin for my son's art supplies. The bottom shelf has all of my chipboard letters (I kinda got carried away with chipboard letters). To the left on the wall is my cute little Suzi Blu print I bought recently. It is a odd size so I had to get creative in order for it to fit into the frame.
These are all of my unmounted stamps that I put in CD cases and in my desk drawer. I also keep my die cuts in there as well.
My middle drawer contains some of my foam stamps and glitter.
I have a smaller desk on the left side of my bigger desk (this comes in handy for storage).
In the top drawer I keep all of my paints and various mediums

The bottom drawer had my ink pad, oil pastels, and tools.
This is a really cool item I purchased that holds all of my paper embellishments, rub-ons and stickers. I love it because I can see everything I have right at my fingertips.
This is my paper holder...man I have a lot of fricken paper! On the top I keep all of my Golden Acrylics and gel mediums. I use these a lot so I like them right next to me.
